Members rides
This page contains some of our favourite rides. They are provided by club members and whilst we make every effort to ensure they are correct and tested the club cannot guarantee that every ride is safe and passable at all times. Please check before setting out.

Bures Loop
Starting at the White Hart in Boxford this is an easy ride of 33.3km which journeys south to Bures and then follows a quiet road north through the village of Lemarsh, giving some stunning views across the Stour Valley. The route passes a number of country pubs and takes the rider into the attractive market town of Sudbury where there are plenty of potential café stops. It then makes it way to its conclusion near the village of Brent Eleigh and the traditional Bike Club ending at Café Como.
Hadleigh, Felixstowe, Harwich Loop
Starting in Hadleigh High Street this route takes you along quiet country roads and cycle paths to Ipswich where it uses mostly light traffic roads, passes through the dock area and eventually leads to the old Felixstowe Road. Arriving in Felixstowe the Harwich Harbour Ferry transports you across the Stour Estuary to Harwich. The route then loops back along quiet lanes to Hadleigh. There is a nice café at the Felixstowe ferry landing point and another on the old Ha’Penny Pier in Harwich, both worth a stop. A fantastic, easy riding route 73.7 km in length.
Gayford Flyer 2019
Startine route meanders, mainly along quiet country roads, passing through Lavenham which is a good place to stop for a coffee and admire the beautiful buildings of this historic town.

Crafted Classique
Starting at Ipswich Docks next to a public car park this fabulous Intermediate ride takes in the town of Woodbridge and the magnificent castle at Orford, a great place to pause and enjoy the view. Total length 100K
Kentish Killer
Killer by name and Killer by nature. If you want to have a go at this it starts at Brands Hatch in Kent. Not for the faint hearted though.
Alton Water Loop
Gentle ride starting in Hadleigh High Street this route meanders along mostly quiet roads south of Ipswich and around Alton Water. It passes several nice village pubs and just after the midway point the café at Alton Water itself.
Norfolk 100
This hundred mile ride which takes in the beautiful North Norfolk Coast and offers stunning views and plenty of nice stopping points for refreshments. Starting and finishing in the seaside town of Cromer where there is plenty of parking before setting off.
Bures 60 Miler
This route explores the countryside to the North of Colchester and passes through the castle village of Hedingham. There is ample parking in Wormingford Village Hall Car Park (CO6 3AB). After passing through Hedingham via the picturesque village of Clare you make your way towards Maglia Rosso a popular local cycling café where an excellent selection of light meals, cakes and drinks are available. The route then loops back to Wormingford.
Orford Quay
Route Distance 79 miles
An excellent ride which is described as easy in terms of cycling but challenging in terms of distance. The route takes through some lovely Suffolk lanes past the historic town of Woodbridge which is well worth a visit. Orford, itself has a fine castle and a beautiful Quay The half way point at Orford Quay has a nice beach café.
Kelly’s Scenic Ride
A lovely ride through the Suffolk Countryside. Although the gpx file starts and ends in Hadleigh it can easily be started from The White Hart, Boxford.
East Suffolk Ride
This fabulous ride starts at the Car Park on the left just before the Rendlesham Forest Centre on the Woodbridge road. On mostly quiet roads the ride gives you the opportunity to enjoy the countryside of East Suffolk. It passes RSPB Minsmere which has an excellent cafe with a wide range of snacks and main meals. It also goes into Aldeburgh, should you prefer fish and chips on the beach.
Lavenham Loop
Sunday morning bike club ride designed by David H. Pleasant ride around the Boxford area. Plenty of cafe stops in Lavenham as well.

Kelly’s Essex Hilly Loop
This hilly gem starts and finishes at the White Hart Boxford. An excellent club ride that is quite demanding with a number of climbs.

Martin’s Blue Egg Ton
This 100 miler takes you on a rambling ride through the highways and byways of South Suffolk and North Essex. The route starts in Hadleigh but goes through Boxford so could easily be picked up at the White Hart. The Blue Egg Cafe is on route and is a great stopping point.
